Advice - Uncertainty Management - Training
John Duhault: Our Principal Geoscientist is a dynamic, engaging geoscientist with expertise in discovery, development, and risk uncertainty management in the petroleum and evolving energy industries (i.e., CCS and Helium). With over 44 years of professional experience, he has been able to leverage cutting-edge technologies to deliver substantial growth for his clients.
He is passionate about teaching the business value of integrated geophysics through the “storytelling” of case histories.
His values mirror his work ethic of doing your best, doing what is right, believing everyone is unique, and treating people the way YOU want to be treated!
Starbird Training: Introduction to Applied Geophysics for Non-Geophysicist Course
Starbird's two-day course follows the life cycle of an oil or gas or CCS property, from the initial well concept to booking reserves from the engineer’s point of view. Case histories illustrate the geophysical tools the project team would apply to mitigate uncertainty by solving a development problem at various stages in the property’s lifetime.
The case histories give a qualitative learning experience without needing to understand all the math and other technical details.
Starbird's Social Responsibilities: Reducing the Cycle of Child Abuse
John Duhault, our founder, and his wife Patti are passionate about reducing the cycle of child abuse and believe this issue is paramount to making our society a better one for all of its future citizens. John Duhault has personally volunteered countless hours to this cause over the years. His family, Starbird Enterprises, and their Dragonheart Foundation have donated thousands of dollars to provide funding for research to solutions to reduce family violence and to support charities and foundations that help reduce the cycle of family and child abuse in western Canada.
They continue their efforts every year and encourage everyone to help these charities and other societies when they can: Camrose Women's Shelter, Home Front Calgary, Fear Is Not Love: Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter, Discovery House Calgary, YWCA, YMCA, Prairie Action Foundation.
